A few weeks ago I finally got around to entering this years Tuscany Trail event.
I say event as it’s as much of a race as each individual makes it.
Whilst I will endeavor to complete the 630km (391 mile) course in as fast a time as I possibly can to use the word ‘race’ seems unsuitable as I’ll likely be one of the slowest participants and I’ll definitely be the one taking it the least seriously!
Having said all of that I am starting to think that a couple of slow-paced and low mileage fatbike rides a week might not cut-the-mustard in terms of ‘training’ and so I’m looking at upping the saddle-hours and intensity over the coming weeks (coincidentally as the weather starts to improve).
I’ll be dusting off the road bike to put in some time down in the valley where there is no longer snow and so I’ll be able to push things a little bit to give me a fighting chance of achieving my vague goal of finishing the event in around 4 days.
Below you watch a little movie about the event which is what got me excited about it in the first place.
