I’m writing this from the car on the way back to France after 3.5 weeks in sunny England.
January wasn’t a big month in terms of the quantity of rides managed but what it lacked in quantity it made up for in quality!
After the previously blogged Ardeche and There ‘n Back trips I had another few big rides before the month ended.
Between Wales and more Wales there were a few dangerous road traverses of London village which were scary due to the murderous intent of the ignorant London drivers but otherwise uneventful.
Then, on the 20th I met up with Eddie at the Afan Forest visitors centre to ride the W2 tail.
A giant loop that takes in both visitors centres it combines two of the best trails of the Afan Forest and the result is a beast of a days riding which I enjoy just as much every time I ride it – brilliant stuff!
The weather was better than it had any right to be during January in Waleshire and we returned to the car(s) knackered and happy.
Next up was a little road jaunt with Kevin to Brighton on Monday.
Another lucky weather day and another lovely little ride!
Ignoring the drudgery of getting through/out of London we had a nice day on the roads before jumping on the train back to London in time for dinner.
It was nice to see Kevin again as the last time we rode together was during the TransPyr trip before I bailed.
So…..the stats for this month look like this:
Not awe inspiring but considering the fragmented nature of this months schedule I can’t complain.
